American Idol Champ Taylor Hicks to Perform at Aquarius Casino Resort

Season five American Idol winner and platinum-selling artist Taylor Hicks will appear at the Aquarius Pavilion on Saturday, August 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets are going for $24.95 and $34.95 plus tax, but the better deal is to book the special $179.99 concert/room package being offered by the resort that includes a two-night stay on August 20-21, two tickets to the show, 25% off the price of the buffet and 10% off the purchase at Starbucks with an ace I Play card.  Hicks has been a busy boy touring with Willie Nelson, Widespread Panic, The Allman Brothers and Jackson Browne and currently plays “Teen Angel” in a touring Broadway production of “Grease.” For the show/package call (800) 662-5825.

Harrah’s Laughlin Kicks off “See the World, Save the World Promotion”

An exciting new promotion called “See the World, Save the World” has kicked off for Total Rewards members at Harrah’s Laughlin and will continue through September 6, 2010. This giveaway gives players a shot at winning one of four, or all four, luxury “green” vacations that include trips to California, Mexico, Alaska and Australia. During the promotional period, new club signups will receive a recycled T-shirt and one entry into the Cash Craze drawings. Tribute Shows Continue at the Riverside Resort

Top summer entertainment continues at the Riverside Resort with a lineup of great tribute shows.  Taking center stage July 28-August 2 is Desperado “A Tribute to the Eagles”. The group is made up of five talented musicians and vocalists and the band brings a totally live show, free of back tracks, overdubs and other tricks to enhance the vocal sound. In other words, what you hear is what you get. Show time is 8 p.m. with tickets going for $25, $22 for hotel guests and $5 off for locals. Good Vibrations, a salute to the Beach Boys is in the house August 3-8 with tickets available at $27.50 and hotel guests $23. Locals will save $5. Beginning August 10 and playing through August 15 is Hot August Nights: Celebrating the music of Neil Diamond. VIP tickets are priced at $32.50 with registered hotel guests paying $27. Aquarius Casino Resort Still Accepting Reservations for Upcoming “River Regatta”

One of Laughlin’s most popular events, the Fourth Annual Bullhead City River Regatta will be held Saturday, August 14. Over 5,000 water enthusiasts will be decorating their inner tubes or getting a group together to customize a non-motorized floating masterpiece to take a leisurely cruise down the Colorado River. Another regatta activity is the kayak and canoe race from Davis Camp early in the morning. The floats will set sail from both sides of the river about 9 a.m. Prior to the regatta festivities, there will be the Ye Gotta Regatta pre-party at the Community Park with free entertainment, vendors and food concessions. Also planned is the Best Bartender on the River Contest where competitors will mix up their most creative tropical drinks with proceeds going to charity. The festivities end with the Ye Hafta post-party at Rotary Park following the float. The entry fee is $15 if you sign up before August 10 and $20 after the cut off date. Included in the entry fee is a pirate tote bag of giveaways.
