The iconic ballad tops a ranking celebrating the most influential songs by women in country music.
Female country artists have created some of the most memorable songs in the genre, from timeless classics to modern anthems. A new ranking from The Top Tens has highlighted the best country songs by female singers, celebrating artists whose voices and songwriting have shaped country music across generations.
Dolly Parton takes the top spot with “I Will Always Love You.” Originally released in the 1970s, the emotional ballad gained even more recognition nearly two decades later and remains one of the most beloved songs associated with a female country artist.
Parton also appears twice more in the ranking with “Coat of Many Colors” at No. 3 and “9 to 5” at No. 5. Reba McEntire leads the list with three entries, while other country legends including Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Kathy Mattea and Taylor Swift are also recognized.
